Brain: Alright, the combatants are set. Let's end this debate once and for all.

Nocturn: It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!

What does the future hold for humanity? We have all asked ourselves that question at some point in our lives. Strangely enough, despite being such a common query, no one can accurately answer it. However, thanks to the improvements of modern science, we may be able to get a better view of the future than we think. Those new pieces of technology are what brought us to this situation... Two men were sitting in front of each other in a dark room that was only illuminated by a small desk lamp.

One of those men was Boris Vyacheslavovich Popov, a former Soviet soldier and the president of Maverick Security Consulting, Inc., a private military company. In front of him was a man whose first name was Jack, but was often referred to as Raiden. He was a cyborg soldier that worked as a freelance mercenary. For this occasion, Raiden was wearing a somewhat tacky tuxedo, which didn't look very good due to the many bulging metallic pieces of his cyborg body. Raiden's face was only partially human, as his entire jaw had been replaced by metallic parts, and his forehead wore a brand resembling a bar code. His left eye was covered by a black bandage.

"Raiden, I apologize for calling you here. I know you said you had your own wars to fight, but we believe this matter is of the utmost importance. We have discovered through an information leak that the current government is going to begin an operation to eliminate all cyborg forces from today's society." Boris spoke in a deep tone, his thick Russian accent affecting the way he spoke.

"Why would they want to do that? If we were to deactivate every single cyborg in America, the country's military would be reduced to only a few hundred people!" Raiden's raspy voice echoed across the room.

"According to president D.T., a cyborg army would be damaging to the value of humanity and its talents. As ridiculous as that sounds, all of his blind followers would instantly start attacking the world's cyborgs just to please their childish president. However, we have designed a plan to save a large number of cyborgs. Let me explain. Doctor Wilhelm and his associates have created a set of machines that can put your cyborg bodies in a lethargic state for a prolonged amount of time, without running the risks that a full shutdown would have." The Maverick president explained.

"I can imagine where this is going. You want me and other cyborgs to use those machines in order to create a small army of cyborgs that could help reinstate the concept of a mechanized army after D.T. gets rid of the main bulk of cyborgs, correct?" Raiden guessed with a serious look on his face.

"You're as sharp as ever, Jack! I know it sounds difficult to just disappear from the face of the Earth, but it would only be two years. Unless the president gets impeached, which is also a possibility. In such a case, we would manually re-activate your body, and the rest would be history. What do you say, Jack?" Boris took a contract out of his desk's drawer and handed it to Raiden, who stayed silent for a while.

"I... accept. If it is for the security of the world, I will do it." Raiden picked up a pen and used it to sign the contract.

"Wonderful, tovarisch! You have to come back in five days, so you have plenty of time to spend with your family before we initiate the protocol." Boris smiled while patting Raiden on the shoulder.

A few days later, Raiden returned to the laboratory. Several other cyborgs were inside the building, most of them wearing sorrowful expressions on their mechanical faces. Raiden walked through the cold and wide corridors of the lab until he encountered Boris, who proceeded to cheerfully greet him.

"Greetings, Jack! I'm glad to have you here. Could you please follow me?" Raiden nodded in response to Boris' query and began following the Russian man. The two of them walked through the lab's convoluted corridors. Soon, they found themselves standing in front of a locked door that had a scanner next to it. Boris took out a card key and slipped it through the scanner's card reader. The metallic door opened, Boris and Raiden quickly entering before it closed again.

The room in which they were in contained dozens of semi-transparent capsules the size of an adult human. Jack's expression changed to a sad one upon seeing that artificial sight, knowing that he was about to lose hundreds upon hundreds of hours of his life. Boris led him to one of the machines on the first row, which was labeled FM-005.

"Raiden, before you get into the capsule, I want to give you something that Doktor made for you." Boris put his hand inside his pocket and took out a small device reminiscent of an old arcade joystick and handed it to Raiden.

"What is this supposed to do?" Raiden grabbed the object and looked at it with a confused expression.

"Listen, tovarisch. There's a possibility that once you wake up from your slumber, the members of Maverick will be dead. After all, this is an undercover illegal operation, and we all know how the president would react if he found out about it. In case that happens, no one will be able to offer you support from the sidelines. This machine is supposed to turn off your pain inhibitors, so please, only use it under highly necessary situations... for your sake." The Russian man explained as Raiden put the device in a safe place.

"Understood. Thank you, Boris... I've sacrificed a lot to get here, so I hope this turns out well. It was nice meeting you." Raiden opened his assigned capsule and stepped inside it. Boris gave him one last salute as Jack prepared for his slumber.

"Goodbye, Jack." The leader of Maverick murmured as he pressed a series of buttons on a console of sorts, starting Raiden's hibernation.

"This cold, dark blue ceiling is going to be the last thing I see until I wake up... What a pain." The cyborg thought to himself as he closed his eyes and felt his energy fading away. Next thing he knew, he was completely asleep.

Throughout that same day, many more cyborgs filled the room until there was a small army contained within those capsules. Maverick's plan to keep cyborgs alive had begun...

Days kept passing without any incidents, but that all changed on the 18th of April of the following year... An earthquake struck in the zone where the laboratory was located. The natural disaster wrecked the entirety of the city, buildings shattering and falling on top of each other like dominoes pieces. Naturally, the laboratory was badly damaged as well. Most of Maverick's personnel perished on that day, including more than half of the cyborgs that were in the capsules. The few that survived were completely buried by rubble, something that caused the capsules to malfunction in unpredictable ways. Some of the cyborgs woke up earlier but were unable to dig their way out or help the other victims, so they perished as well. Raiden's case, however, was flat-out bizarre. His capsule was mostly unharmed, but the pieces of rubble that affected the machine's circuits postponed Raiden's awakening... for thousands of years. Seeing how no one was able to find the buried cyborgs due to the operation being known only by Maverick employees, his body stayed there... unfeeling for the following millennia.

After thousands of years, Raiden finally opened his eyes... Only to be greeted by a pile of rubble covering his capsule. Nervous, Raiden started banging on the capsule as much as he could with his fists. After struggling for a while, he managed to break it down, freeing himself from that miniature prison. Once he stepped out of it, he realized that the whole lab had been flooded with rubble and pieces of broken machinery. He tried to look for other cyborgs, but all of them were dead. Raiden felt a chill of despair down his mechanical spine after seeing that horrible sight. He had no idea what could've happened. He sat down to collect his thoughts.

Meanwhile, outside the buried lab was a tall pale woman with white hair and a bandage covering her eyes. She wore a short black dress and carried a pair of enormous swords. A small rectangular robot levitated around her as she walked through a ruined city full of destroyed buildings and cracked roads. That woman was the YoRHa Unit Number 2 Type B, 2B for short, and her robotic companion was her assigned pod, Pod Number 042. The YoRHa android was calmly exploring the ruined city, but her thoughts were interrupted by the pod's voice.

"Alert. Intense energy signals found nearby. Location marked on map." The pod's artificial voice echoed through the uninhabited city. 2B's expression changed to a more serious one.

"Could that be a Machine? I haven't seen any other creatures here since we arrived." 2B questioned the pod.

"Unknown. The signal appears to come from an underground location. Suggested action: Investigate." The pod replied.

"You don't say?" The android replied in a sarcastic tone. 2B and 042 began walking in the objective's direction, the city's scenery repeating itself until the two individuals arrived at what seemed to be a building concealed by tons of rubble.

"You have arrived at your destination. Energy signals found three meters underground. Suggested action: Dig out the rubble." The pod spoke in its annoying and monotonous voice.

"Pod, activate module number three." The android commanded. In response, the Pod took on a slightly different form and began firing missiles at the buried building. After a dozen missiles had collided with the construction, most of the rubble had been completely pulverized, revealing a metallic door.

While 2B and the pod were bombing the building, the only "person" inside it, which was none other than Raiden, was rather astonished by the sound of the explosions.

"What the hell is happening out there?" Raiden got up and forcibly opened the door that was blocking the exit. He quickly ran through the labyrinth-like corridors of the ruined laboratory until he found yet another large door, which he casually kicked open. The piece of iron shot out of its door frame at breakneck speeds. What Raiden saw after doing that left him intrigued.

"It can't be... Something has gone very wrong..." Raiden was shocked by the sight of the ruined city. He was not aware of the time that had passed since he fell asleep, but he could tell that the plan that Boris devised had failed in some way.

2B carefully stepped towards Raiden's position, but her march was interrupted by the Pod's voice.

"Warning: Dangerous semi-organic form detected. Proceed with caution." The pod's voice resonated through the city, taking Raiden's attention. The cyborg ninja noticed that the woman that was standing before him carried two large swords. His expression changed to a visibly angry one.

"You, the girl in black. Explain to me what happened to this city." Jack pointed at 2B with his artificial brows intensely furrowed.

"I'm sorry, but I do not know. This city has been like this for thousands of years, according to the YoRHa database." 2B replied in a dry tone, making Raiden even angrier.

"Thousands of years? What in the world are you spouting? It was perfectly fine two years ago! And what is this YoRHa you speak of?" The cyborg further questioned the android.

"I'm afraid you have a problem, and I don't think I'm in a position to solve your doubts. If you wish, I could contact the YoRHa Command center-"

"Shut up about that YoRHa thing! If you're not going to give me answers, I'll beat them out of you!"
Raiden interrupted 2B and drew his silver-colored sword, the High-Frequency Blade.

"Ugh... So stubborn. I'll make sure to teach you some manners." Upset, 2B grabbed the handle of her white katana blade, Virtuous Contract.

The showdown between the cyborg ninja and the android samurai was about to begin. This match is gonna be a bloody one...

YoRhaiden by NocturnBros

The first move was made by Raiden, who promptly dashed in 2B's direction with his sword at the front for a direct stab, but 2B swung her katana downwards and to the left, changing the trajectory of the sword and making the stab miss her completely. While Raiden was still stuck in that attack's position, 2B swiftly hit Raiden in the stomach with her knee, knocking the cyborg back slightly. She then followed up the attack by performing an overhead slash to Raiden's right shoulder, but the cyborg ninja put his blade in a horizontal position in front of his face, resulting in a successful parry. The impact of the two swords threw the android back slightly, giving Raiden another opportunity to attack. Jack changed his position and delivered a horizontal slash with his HF Blade, but 2B reacted to it in time to perform a backflip, which not only gave her enough distance to dodge Raiden's slash but also allowed her to kick the sword out of his hands, sending it upwards.

While Raiden's sword was spinning in mid-air, 2B swung her arms at high speed, thus delivering a quick flurry of punches. Right as the sword was about reach 2B, she jumped and grabbed its hilt, only to then perform a diagonal aerial slash, which hit Raiden's chest directly, decorating his cyborg body with a shallow cut. However, after 2B did that, Raiden reeled back his arm, and sparks started forming around it. In an extremely short timeframe, he thrust his fist in 2B's direction, colliding with the android's solar plexus. Due to the intensity of the hit, the YoRHa Unit was sent flying back several meters as she covered her damaged area with her right hand.

"You're pretty good... Not many people can manage to hit me during the first few seconds of a fight." Raiden cracked his knuckles as 2B got up from the attack.

"The same could be said about you." The YoRHa Unit replied as she prepared to attack Raiden once more.

"Say, you're not human, are you? That power is unlike anything I've seen before." Raiden questioned his foe as she swung her white katana at Raiden, who blocked the attack with his sword.

"Not human, you say? I'm afraid it's not as simple as that." The android said in response as she kept trading sword slashes with her opponent.

"Hmph. Even if you don't tell me, I'll find out anyway..." As Raiden said this, 2B prepared to deliver a vertical slash, but the cyborg grabbed Virtuous Contract with his hand. "...when I slice you to pieces!" While 2B's sword was fixed in Raiden's hand, the cyborg used his other hand to quickly deliver a horizontal slash, which managed to collide with 2B's stomach, making a very shallow cut that did more damage to 2B's dress than to her body. Despite the pain, 2B grabbed the hilt of Virtuous Contract with both of her hands and swiftly raised her feet above her head. Before Raiden could do anything, 2B was performing a handstand on the sword's hilt. The cyborg was impressed, but his astonishment led to a mistake on his end... From her handstand position, 2B quickly grabbed Raiden's neck using her thighs, only to then rapidly lower her arms to the floor and flip Raiden using her legs. The cyborg's body spun in mid-air while the android quickly stood up and grabbed her katana from the floor.

While Raiden was trying to get up, the android walked up to him and delivered a powerful kick to the cyborg's face, forcing him to get up. The cyborg drew his HF Blade once again and prepared to attack his enemy, but much to his surprise, 2B was no longer wielding Virtuous Contract. Instead, she was holding the hilt of a much larger sword, the one that she was carrying on her back when they met, Beastlord. The android dashed towards Raiden, dragging Beastlord across the floor. The speed at which she moved made sparks appear near the tip of the beast-like broadsword. When she got close enough to Raiden, 2B violently swung the sword upwards. Due to the attack's angle, Raiden quickly stepped back, knowing that he wouldn't be able to block that attack without taking damage. While her sword was still raised, the YoRHa unit swung Beastlord at Raiden again, this time downwards. The cyborg, astonished, tried parrying the hit instead of dodging it. 2B's Beastlord clashed with Raiden's HF Blade, the two swordmasters getting caught in a blade-lock.

"There's no point in fighting further. I've already offered you information." 2B stated as she applied a great force to her sword, causing sparks to fly around the clashing blades.

"I wouldn't be fighting you if the information you offer was all I wanted!" Raiden replied while he used both of his hands to support the weight of his blade, alongside 2B's sword's weight. "You see, it's pretty suspicious to see that the first and only person that's in this city is an enemy that's armed to the teeth."

"I don't know what you've been through. It's possible that you have reasons to suspect me being the mastermind behind what has happened to you, but you must believe me! I am not your enemy!"
The YoRHa unit argued as she kept on pushing, but she suddenly felt a strange shift in how her force was being applied.

"You know, doll? Actions speak louder than words. If you really weren't my enemy, then you would have no reason to engage in combat with me." Raiden replied sarcastically, causing the android to grunt in annoyance. As she did this, 2B realized why there was a change in her force... 2B's Beastlord had been pierced by Raiden's High-Frequency Blade. Upon seeing this, she let go of the sword and performed a back-step, her body dividing into three mirages of herself, but quickly reforming a few steps back. After 2B disappeared, the Beastlord broadsword dematerialized in a flash of light, leaving Raiden slicing at the air.

"That sword of yours is quite the nuisance," 2B stated, panting slightly. Without equipping any new weapons, the android rushed in Raiden's direction. Once she got close enough, she grabbed the blade of Jack's sword with her left hand, and delivered a palm strike to Raiden's left hand, forcing the cyborg to let go of the HF Blade. Lastly, she delivered a kick to Raiden's chest, forcing him to stagger.

"You won't be needing this anymore." The YoRHa unit firmly grasped the bladed weapon and promptly split it with a knee strike, turning it into nothing more than chunks of vibrating metal. Raiden's single eye widened as he saw his precious weapon getting destroyed.

"Jack, try to remember some of the basics of CQC, just apply what you learned in your VR Training." The voice of Raiden's wife, Rosemary, echoed through his mind, reminding him of his skills. The cyborg's eye began gleaming in a red tone and electricity started forming around his fists. Before 2B could do anything, Raiden delivered a highly potent punch to her cheek, staggering the android. In order to continue dealing damage, the cyborg delivered another punch, his charged up fist colliding with 2B's stomach. Instead of keeping up the string of hits, Raiden used his right hand to grab 2B's neck and force her down onto the ground, immobilizing her limbs with his hands and legs.

(*stop music*)

For a few seconds, Raiden had the female android pinned onto the ground in a rather restrictive position. Had this been a wrestling match, she would've lost. However, she wasn't done fighting yet.

"Pod Program R010, activate!" 2B yelled out. Suddenly, the Pod that was following 2B earlier reappeared right in front of Raiden's face. It rapidly opened its panel, only to reveal a cannon, which fired a large blast of energy in a straight line. Raiden saw the attack coming, but due to his position, he was unable to dodge it completely, with the laser destroying the visor that covered his left eye socket, which was actually empty. After the laser blast ceased, Raiden put his hand on his eye socket and let out a grunt, but his distraction allowed 2B to push him away.

"You've got some nice tricks up your sleeve, doll... But I'm not done yet!" The cyborg reached out to his scabbard and drew a sword similar to the HF Blade, except noticeably longer. "Let's dance!" He exclaimed with a look of excitement on his face.

With the High-Frequency Longsword in hand, Raiden prepared to deliver a vertical slash at his enemy, who casually dashed backward before the blade hit her. With there being now several meters between the two combatants, 2B pointed at Jack, ordering Pod 042 to open fire. The pod quickly opened its panel again, revealing a small cannon, and commenced shooting some sort of energy bullets in a fashion similar to how a Gatling gun would fire its bullets. Anticipating the impact of the bullets, Raiden began swinging his longsword in a rapid manner so that the energy pellets collided with the weapon. Upon making an impact, the pellets went flying around in different directions.

While the Pod fired away at the cyborg, 2B equipped another sword as a way to substitute the lost Beastlord, this time, it was a large white katana known as Virtuous Treaty. 2B grabbed both Treaty and Contract with each of her hands and rapidly moved in Raiden's direction. At that same time, the pod stopped firing. The YoRHa unit swung the smaller katana with her right hand, with Raiden using his HF Longsword to block the blow. However, 2B kept applying force to the blade, making the combatants enter a struggle. But while the sword fighters were caught in a blade-lock, 2B used her other hand to strike Raiden's ribs using the larger katana. The impact made small pieces of Raiden's cyborg body to get destroyed, thus making him fall down.

While Raiden was lying on the floor, he looked up, only to see the android lifting her right leg. Before 2B used her heel to crush his head, Raiden rolled out of the way and used his longsword to slash at 2B's leg. The wound was not very deep, but it was enough to make her kneel. While still on the floor, Raiden put his hands on the ground and used his legs to kick 2B in the chin, sending her flying. As 2B spun in mid-air due to Raiden's blow, Pod 042 began firing its Gatling gun at the floored cyborg, but Raiden swiftly inserted the hilt of his sword into his foot and commenced spinning in a way reminiscent of break dancing. The energy bullets flew quickly at Raiden, but the cyborg's rapid moves allowed him to deflect the projectiles, sending them all in various directions.

As Raiden danced the bullets away, 2B fell on the ground and subsequently got back up. Seeing how the bullets weren't doing anything to the enemy, the android commanded the pod to change its firing mode. Several mechanic pieces began shifting within Pod 042, revealing a pair of peculiar cannons. A beeping noise started sounding as the Pod's cannons began charging up. Raiden got up and prepared to block the next onslaught of projectiles...

"Fire!" Right after 2B pronounced that word, the Pod's cannons shot out a stream of light, which reached Raiden's sword instantly. Raiden's hands trembled due to the constant power of the Pod's laser. He knew that if he made a single mistake, that laser could fry his brains. The cyborg tried to walk forward in order to get closer to the pod, but as he did, he felt the impact of a fist on his stomach. The cyborg looked down and saw 2B brandishing a pair of strange gauntlets shaped like samurai helmets. Despite their impractical look, they packed quite a punch. No pun intended.

The Pod stopped firing while 2B attacked in order to prevent damaging her. This allowed Raiden to use his sword again. Without a moment's hesitation, the cyborg ninja swung his longsword at 2B, but when the android used her gauntlets to parry the attack, the blade shattered. Raiden's singular eye widened in fear as he realized that the laser's massive temperature had weakened the blade. Before he could take out another weapon, his jaw was struck by 2B's white gauntlet. As a follow-up, 2B quickly moved behind Raiden and delivered another punch directly to his back. Then, in the blink of an eye, her gauntlets vanished and were replaced by a gray sword with a serrated edge. Before Raiden could even make a single move, 2B slashed away at him with her new sword. All Raiden could see was a flash of light moving back and forth, with each movement making him feel new impacts.

Once the onslaught of slashes ceased, Raiden spat out a bit of blood and took out another different sword. This time, it had a thicker appearance, with its non-edged side being covered by a black material. This sword was known as the Armor Breaker.

Before either combatant started attacking once again, 2B commanded the pod to change modes again. Just like before, Pod 042 started moving its pieces, this time revealing a small set of rocket launchers. From those small launchers, a cluster of ten missiles was fired in Raiden's direction. However, the cyborg calmly stood in the way of those missiles... From his point of view, time was standing still, for he had activated his Blade Mode. To him, those missiles were moving at a snail's pace, so he took advantage of that opportunity and began swinging his blade in a manner so precise that it allowed him to slice all ten of those missiles in a perfectly symmetrical way. As Raiden's perception of time returned to normal, the ten missiles exploded, surprising the YoRHa Unit.

"Such speed... I need to be careful about him..." The android thought to herself as she raised her blade.

"Still convinced that you can take me on, doll?" In a condescending tone, Raiden asked a rhetorical question to provoke 2B. It must have worked, as the first thing that the android did after hearing it was dashing in his direction with her sword in hand.

CLANK!

In an instant, their blades clashed again. The intensity of the impact was so enormous that it caused a nearby building to lose all of its windows. Unlike their previous blade-locks, Raiden seemed to have the upper hand this time. Raiden, noticing how much 2B was struggling, lifted his sword for less than a second, only to perform a strong downwards slash, which destroyed 2B's Type-3 Sword and also pierced her shoulder, dealing damage to her clavicle.

"Argh!" 2B let out a groan of pain as she used her hands to remove Raiden's blade from her shoulder, dropping her broken sword in the process. While the android did that, Pod 042 fired a whopping 21 missiles at the cyborg. Unarmed, all that Raiden could do was try to dodge them, but due to the high amount of projectiles, he was struck by a few of the missiles. Luckily for him, they were not very damaging to his sturdy cyborg body.

Raiden looked over to where 2B was standing. The android was holding Raiden's blood-stained sword by the blade.

"I am done with your games. I swear I will defeat you in the name of YoRHa! GLORY TO MANKIND!" The android yelled out a warcry as she clenched her fist with enough strength to destroy Raiden's Armor Breaker sword. Afterward, she invoked a white spear known as Virtuous Dignity and a large war ax, Fang of the Twins.

"Heh. I see you're starting to take this seriously. En garde!" Raiden retorted as he raised his fists.

2B grabbed the handle of the Fang of the Twins and began charging up. At the same time, Raiden sprinted in her direction, however, before he got close enough, 2B chucked the large ax at him. Despite the unexpected nature of the attack, Raiden was able to react to it and managed to grab the weapon by the blade. Seeing how he was unarmed, Jack grabbed the ax's handle and began swinging it at 2B, who swiftly blocked it with her spear. The android spun around Raiden's body and stabbed him through the shoulder. Raiden, however, was completely unfazed and managed to counterattack by hitting 2B in the stomach using the tip of the ax's long handle.

2B dashed backward and moved her hands in a strange motion. This caused the ax to dematerialize from Raiden's hand, only to reappear behind 2B's back. The android's strange hand signals were also directed to her Pod, which appeared behind her. Raiden, tired of being unarmed, took out a strange item seemingly out of nowhere. This item was a black polearm composed of arm-like pieces. It was Mistral's memento, L'Etranger.

As Raiden approached his enemy with the polearm, two more pods appeared behind 2B. The biggest of the three fired a large blast of energy, just as it did before. Raiden anticipated the blast, so he quickly slid beneath it. However, he wasn't expecting the other two pods to fire the exact same beam at him. In a fraction of a second, the two lasers hit Raiden in the chest, dazing him slightly. While Jack was stunned, 2B approached him and swung her spear at him. Unfortunately for her, this only made Raiden snap out of it. 2B prepared to swing her spear at him again, but this time, Raiden was able to parry the strike using L'Etranger. The cyborg used the lower part of the polearm to hit the android in her left shin, making her lose her footing. In the second that 2B was stunned, Raiden made his polearm transform into a whip of sorts and started swinging it at 2B, making loud cracking sounds with each swing.

"Ugh! Is that how you treat a lady?" 2B groaned in annoyance. As Raiden's next swing approached, the android intercepted L'Etranger and grabbed it with her hand, only to then use it to throw Raiden over her head. However, Raiden let go of the whip in mid-air so that he could make a proper landing, but what happened after his feet touched the ground was rather shocking...

A huge hammer-shaped construct came out of 2B's pod and promptly smashed Raiden's head. The power of this attack was so intense that blood started to run down the cyborg's forehead. Raiden wiped his forehead with one hand, using the other one to pick up the polearm, all while panting greatly. The cyborg got up and tried to hit 2B using L'Etranger, but the android used her spear to impale Jack's weapon, which she then threw several meters away.

Angered, Raiden tried to deliver a straight jab, but a fraction of a second before the cyborg's fist made contact with 2B's body, the android disappeared from sight, only to reappear suddenly and deliver a quick succession of slashes before Raiden could react to them. In an instant, Raiden's cyborg body was filled with shallow cuts, but those superficial wounds were not enough to stop Raiden, who suddenly drew a sharp weapon known as a Sai. This Sai, in particular, had a strange aura around it. It was the Sai once wielded by Monsoon, Dystopia. Fearing the properties of the White Devil's new weapon, 2B took a few steps back and summoned a short bladed weapon. It looked very fancy, and the heavy amount of golden decorations that were on it made it look like a ceremonial weapon. It was none other than the Phoenix Dagger, a rare weapon said to be made of a Phoenix's feathers.

Instead of running in 2B's direction, Raiden threw the Sai at 2B, with a purple beam keeping the cyborg's hand attached to his weapon. 2B raised her dagger in order to block the attack, but much to her surprise, the Sai attached itself to the metallic weapon. Suddenly, Raiden lifted his feet off the ground, and due to the magnetic force produced by the Dystopia Sai, his feet were pulled towards 2B at high speed, thus turning his simple move into a supersonic dropkick, which collided with 2B's dagger. Due to the immense weight of the cyborg, this attack sent 2B surprisingly far away.

Ready to keep fighting, 2B performed an incredibly high jump, and while she was in midair, she threw her pod at the ground. Once the machine collided with the ground, it created a huge electric shockwave, which instantaneously caused Raiden to trip and fall onto the asphalt. Even though she was still in the air, 2B wasn't done with her offense. Out of one of her pods shot out a yellow wire-like beam, which attached itself onto Raiden's head and swiftly reeled the cyborg closer to 2B, who had prepared her Phoenix Dagger to deliver a spiking attack. The dagger's blade collided with Jack's head, shooting him downwards at breakneck speeds.

CRASH!

The White Devil's body made a sudden impact with the ground, causing a decently sized crater to appear. Before trying to get up, Raiden noticed that 2B was about to descend towards him with the intention of stabbing him in the heart. As a response, the cyborg raised his Sai, and once 2B got close enough, the dagger got stuck in between the Sai's spikes, immobilizing 2B for a moment. Raiden took this chance to move his wrist in an abrupt manner, disarming the android.

"Time to end this!" Raiden exclaimed as he pushed 2B and pinned her down. He then proceeded to insert his Sai into 2B's stomach, pushing further and further until he could feel the tip of his Sai touching the cement road, all while 2B's screams of agony drowned the sound of flesh being torn. However, right after Jack retired his Sai from his enemy's body, he realized something...

"This... This is not flesh! Just as I thought, you're not human. Those circuits that I can see from your wounds... They're different from the kind of modifications that cyborgs have." Now that he was able to take a good look at his opponent, Raiden realized that the few cuts that 2B's body had revealed circuits instead of flesh. Expecting 2B to stay still after the damage that he had dealt to the android, Jack got up.

(*music stops*)

"I already have what I needed to know. Don't try to pursue me." The cyborg confidently said to his downed opponent. ("I normally don't spare my opponents, but I need to check if there are any survivors in any of the buildings.") Raiden thought to himself as he began sprinting away from the damaged android. He dashed across a cracked road, trying his best to find other people, but to no avail. In a matter of minutes, he had reached the depths of the ruined city.

While her enemy fleed, 2B attempted to get up, but due to the immense pain caused by Raiden's assault, she was stuck in a slumped-over position.

"Damn him! This feels so humiliating..." 2B exclaimed as her Pod began showering her with light. As this light touched her wounds, they began closing. In a matter of seconds, she had recovered completely thanks to her Pod. She then got up and looked at the city...

"I don't know why, but I feel an unfathomable desire to stop that cyborg swirling within me..." The android closed her eyes, which were still concealed by the black piece of fabric. "Pod, summon the flight unit." She opened her eyes as she pronounced a new order for her pod.

Raiden had grown tired of walking through the city's grim scenery, but he knew he had to go on despite his injuries. He entered one of the biggest buildings the city had to offer. It was partially destroyed, but in comparison to the rest, it looked stable enough for people to be able to live inside it. The cyborg looked through each of the building's floors, but the closest thing to human signs he found was a desktop computer with a cracked screen. Due to the lack of power of the building, Raiden sacrificed a bit of his electric energy to power the computer. Luckily for him, it still worked despite its terrible state. However, the only thing that Jack was able to see on screen was a message that said:

Good afternoon, User. Today's date is September 19, 11945.

"11945!? This is preposterous!"
The cyborg screamed in disbelief upon reading the message, but doing so would quickly prove to be a bad idea.

RATATATATATATATATATA!

The sound of machine guns firing suddenly interrupted the city's peaceful silence. The walls of the room in which Raiden was standing were torn apart by what seemed to be energy bullets, causing large clouds of dust to appear. Once the puffs of dust disappeared, Raiden was able to see who was attacking him. It was the same android as before, but this time, she was piloting a white mech with a large pair of wings, which also had two sets of machine guns.

"I already warned you not to follow me," Raiden said as he hid behind a nearby pillar. He tried to reach out for his Sai, but it seems he had lost it while on his way to the city. "Looks like I'm gonna have to improvise this time..." He thought to himself.

"..." The android's silence was followed up by her pressing the buttons on her flight unit, which caused its machine guns to start firing energy bullets at massive speeds, aiming for the pillar that Raiden was using as cover. The immense piercing power of the energy bullets immediately became obvious to Raiden, as a single projectile was enough to pierce the pillar and his shoulder. Wanting to avoid more damage, Raiden started running away from the room and into that floor's corridor, but that did not stop 2B, who simply maneuvered herself around the building with her flying unit while keeping track of Raiden through the corridor's windows. 2B's mech constantly fired in Raiden's direction, but the cyborg ninja was used to dealing with that sort of maneuver, so he casually kept on running while occasionally crouching in order to dodge the ballistic projectiles. For every shot that missed the cyborg, the building crumbled further, with several large chunks of debris almost crushing Raiden along the way.

The ninja kept on running through the long hallway, but it seems he was about to reach its end. Thinking quickly, Raiden took out a small cylindrical container... A red phosphorus grenade. Right before arriving at the corridor's end, the ninja removed the grenade's safety pin and smashed it onto the ground, creating a massive cloud of smoke, which was able to impede 2B's sight. While the android was hopelessly looking for Jack, he silently opened one of the windows and jumped out of it, his leap being powerful enough to let him reach the nearest building, all without 2B noticing.

Once the smoke cleared out, the mech-riding android tried to look for her enemy through the windows of the building, but she was completely unable to find him. While the YoRHa Unit looked for him, Raiden carefully aimed a large weapon at her back while hiding in the other building. The weapon in question was none other than a LAG-2 Rocket Launcher.

"Sweet dreams, doll." The cyborg pulled the launcher's trigger, causing a small rocket to suddenly shoot out of the launcher's cannon. The projectile quickly broke through the glass window that Raiden was hiding behind, with a loud "CRASH!" sound alerting the android about the oncoming projectile. However, despite having reacted to the sound, she was unable to move out of the way.

"BOOM!"

A bright orange explosion was triggered when the rocket made contact with the android's flight unit, with a massive cloud of smoke following suit. Knowing that, in the off chance that his opponent lived through that impact, his hiding position would be found out, Raiden tried to run up the room's stairs as fast as he could, soon reaching the building's final floor, which had several hiding spots in the shape of half-destroyed walls. Raiden took cover behind one of those walls and paid close attention to the cloud of smoke, which had finally cleared out, revealing that 2B's flying unit was still in one piece. Disappointed, Raiden slapped his knee, being careful about not making any noise. However, his sudden move caused a small pebble to fall out of the wall that he was using to take cover. Despite the ridiculously soft sound that it made when falling, 2B's visor displayed a sound wave graph, which alerted her about this sudden noise.

"Jackpot!" The samurai android said to herself as she aimed all of her cannons at the building that was housing the White Devil. Unlike her previous shots, this time, she fired a massive fusillade of energy bullets that covered enough space to dwarf the building's width. A myriad of energy bullets headed towards the cyborg, whose single eye widened in fear.

"Oh, shit..." That vulgar word was the single thing that came to Raiden's mind as he saw that deadly spectacle. Right as it was about to hit the building, Raiden tried to avoid it by running away and jumping over it, but the absurdly high amount of projectiles made the assault nearly impossible to avoid. In an instant, a dozen energy bullets pierced Raiden's body, hitting everywhere from his legs to his chest, but luckily missing his head. If it weren't for his pain inhibitors, he would be screaming his lungs out right now.

After the projectiles damaged Raiden's body, the fusillades ceased coming. Despite the great damage that he had taken from the attack, Raiden was still standing. But 2B wasn't going to just stand there and let him escape. Instead, she used the flight unit's thrusters to charge full speed in the cyborg's direction while drawing a humongous energy sword.

Raiden stood still as he observed the mech's movements, and once it was close enough, he took a leap, which allowed him to dodge the mech's energy sword. While in mid-air, the ninja cyborg grabbed onto the flight unit's wings, an action that clearly annoyed 2B.

"Let's see if you like this, you flea!" The android exclaimed as she pressed a few buttons. Doing this caused the mech's thrusters to aim directly at Raiden. A stream of flames started shooting out of the thrusters, burning the cyborg. However, he was able to endure it while taking out another weapon, a customized FIM-92 Stinger missile launcher.

"This flea has many tricks up his sleeve, doll." The cyborg aimed the missile launcher at the body of the mech and pulled the trigger as he leaped away from the machine, the missile hitting the flight unit at point-blank range. The heavy impact caused it to malfunction and come crashing down, causing a massive fireball to engulf the machine and 2B with it.

(*music stops*)

"That was tough..." Raiden said to himself as he landed on the cracked cement road. He put his hand to his stomach, and upon retiring it, noticed the massive amount of blood that he was losing.

"That android... She must have had a reason to keep on fighting... But that's not what matters right now. The number that I saw on that computer... Could it be that I slept through that many millennia? It does not sound possible..." Jack spoke to himself out loud, thinking about what had happened to the world.

"CRASH!"

A loud noise suddenly came from the wreckage that Raiden had caused. Raiden was startled by it, so he promptly raised his head and fixed his eye on the inferno that had been caused by the explosion of the flight unit.

"Do you want to learn the truth, human?" A female voice echoed through the city, astonishing the cyborg.

"You are the last human on Earth. Today's date is September 19, 11945. This city was destroyed millennia ago by a massive earthquake. Thousands of years later, humanity was wiped out by an extraterrestrial army of machines, leaving only androids behind. I was manufactured a couple of years ago as part of YoRHa's Executioner line. My name is YoRHa Unit Number 2 Type E, and my objective is to eliminate those who try to uncover the truth about the human race's demise." The familiar voice explained, revealing that 2B was still alive. The android walked away from the fire, revealing its partially charred body. Her dress was now mostly just a set of damaged cloth. The bandage that previously covered her eyes was now gone, uncovering a pair of blue eyes.

"It can't be! Humanity is extinct!?" The cyborg yelled in disbelief. However, deep down, he knew that it was true. That android was not lying.

"You have learned enough. Now prepare to be exterminated." 2E's eyes started gleaming in a red tone as she drew a black katana that was known as Cruel Oath, formerly wielded by YoRHa Unit 9S.

"I'm humanity's last hope... No, this isn't right! This has to be a nightmare of sorts! TELL ME THIS ISN'T TRUE, DAMN IT!" The cyborg's sanity started to waver upon the realization of humanity's fate. His eyes started playing tricks on him. He saw the figures of a woman and a child... His wife and son.

"Rose... Little John... Both dead... This is fucked up... Someone... Wake me from this nightmare..." Raiden kneeled down, his mind completely broken. All he could think of was the lost lives of his loved ones. He reached out to a small compartment in his chest and took out a small device and a picture of his wife and son.

"This is all my fault... Because I wasn't able to protect them!" In a fit of rage, Raiden clenched his fist, crumbling the photography of his family... and accidentally pressing a button on the device that he was holding.

SNAP

In an instant, a surge of pain started to flow through Raiden's body. That device was the one that Boris gave him before his thousand-year-long slumber, the one that allowed him to turn off his pain inhibitors.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"

Raiden screamed in agony... but that helped him snap out of his pathetic state. His eye started shining in a bright red tone, and he finally got up.

"This pain that I'm feeling... It's incredible! I haven't felt anything like this in my life! Raiden is no more. The man standing before you, YoRHa, is none other than Jack the Ripper! Are you ready for your demise, you pathetic android?" Jack's body began emitting an aura of pure bloodlust. Both 2B and Raiden were gone. This was now a battle between Jack the Ripper and the YoRHa Exterminator...

Finale by NocturnBros

Raiden drew a brand new sword, but this time, it was not his sword at all. The blood-red katana that he had just taken out was Jetstream Sam's memento, the High-Frequency Murasama Blade. In an ironic turn of events, the conclusion of this confrontation would be reached while the combatants wielded weapons that didn't belong to them.

Right before the ninja and the samurai faced off for one last time, dark clouds started gathering around the city, bringing a light drizzle with them. The falling rain put out the flames that were caused by the flight unit's wreckage. Despite the weather, Raiden remained undeterred and quickly dashed towards the android, lifting up a huge cloud of dust due to his sheer speed. In an incredibly swift motion, Raiden swung his blade at speeds that would make bullets jealous. In response to the cyborg ninja's high-speed assault, 2E casually lifted her blade and moved held it blade-down while making slight movements to each side in ways that allowed her to perfectly intercept each of Raiden's slashes. Despite his opponent's ease for blocking hits, Jack was more than thrilled.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! YES, WE NEED TO KEEP GOING! LET'S MAKE THIS A BLOODBATH UNLIKE NO OTHER!" Raiden's battle-crazed persona screamed manically as he kept slashing away at the killer android. 2E, however, decided to make an abrupt change in her parrying, exerting force herself in order to push Raiden back. In the millisecond that Raiden was stunned by the hit, 2E made a signal with her hand...

SHINK!

Raiden suddenly felt dozens of spears piercing his body. This was caused by 2E, who had used one of her Pod's programs. The spear-shaped energy constructs vanished quickly, but the damage had been done, as they had already pierced almost every part of Raiden's body. However, the cyborg didn't seem to mind this pain.

"You think a few tacks will be enough to bring me down!? Let me show you the true brutality of Jack the Ripper!" Raiden exclaimed as blood kept pouring out of his wounds. Despite his pain, he was determined to see this battle through. The cyborg went in for a punch to 2E's face, but the android dodged it with ease by tilting her head slightly.

"This cannot continue." The android spoke in a deadpan tone. Then, from Raiden's point of view, she disappeared in a flash, but in reality, she had dashed past Raiden, slicing the cyborg's right arm off.

"This again? Heheheh... Looks like you've disarmed me. But that will not be a problem. I am ambidextrous, after all!" In spite of having lost his dominant arm, Raiden crouched and picked up the Murasama with his left hand. In a fraction of a second, Raiden turned around while swinging his blade, 2E crouching in order to dodge it. As the android prepared to get up and deliver a counterattack, time slowed down massively for Raiden... He had entered Blade Mode once again.

The cyborg swung his sword blindly in every direction as fast as he could, reaching hundreds of slashes within a moment... But once time went back to its normal state for him, a grim surprise awaited him. 2E's body was completely intact, as she was being shielded by a barrier of sorts.

"H-how can this be!?" Raiden exclaimed in disbelief as he realized what was going on. However, before he could even think of trying to attack 2E again, he slowly saw the female android thrusting her black sword in his head's direction.

SLASH!

2E inserted Cruel Oath into Jack's head, halting his movements completely. The resilient cyborg was unable to even make a sound, as he involuntarily dropped his sword while his head hung from the YoRHa Unit's sword. Jack the Ripper, better known as Raiden, had expired.

(*music stops*)

The android retired her sword from her victim's skull and made a sudden swing in order to clean the blood from the blade. After doing that, she stared at the corpse of her fallen enemy.

"..."

The YoRHa Unit's eyes stopped glowing red, and were soon filled with tears... 2B just realized what had happened...

"It always... ends like this..." The tears in 2B's eyes suddenly turned into waterfalls. Not only had YoRHa lied to her about her mission, but she had also slain the last human on the planet. Worst of all, this was all her fault. Had she not decided to engage in combat with Raiden, her true personality of the YoRHa Executioner would have never been unearthed. She may have lived through that day, but that victory... was far from sweet.

2B VS Raiden - Results
Nocturn: *Insert edgy comment about how humans are finally extinct.*
Brain: This fight might seem close to the average person, but honestly, it's so far from fair that it's almost laughable. Let's start with the basics. In terms of strength and destructive capacity, Raiden's best feat is destroying and overpowering Metal Gear EXCELSUS, which packs a power of ~1.15 kilotons, AKA Small Town/MCB+ level. This would only be slightly boosted by Ripper mode, which is allegedly 7 times stronger than base Raiden. However, this would still land him in the Town level range at best, with the estimated amount of power being 8 kilotons. On the other hand, at the very weakest, 2B can dispatch the enormous Engels units, which can cause an amount of destruction estimated to be 3.5 kilotons of T
