JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

The Legend of Zelda

JoJo's Bizarre adventure is a manga series written and drawn by Hirohiko Araki since 1986, and, over the years, it has gained quite a loyal fanbase, with it growing even larger when the series got an anime adaptation in 2012. But could it have any relation to the multi-generational gaming series of Nintendo fame? Let's find out!

There should be no doubt about how inspiring the JoJo series has been for many other series. One of it's biggest rivals is the legendary Castlevania series of video games, which has featured many references and cameos, like the Soul Guardian Cagnazzo, who bears a striking resemblance to Jotaro Kujo's Star Platinum. Interestingly enough, it has the exact same battle cry as the iconic Stand, "ORAORAORAORA!".
Whether or not  that can be considered a direct cameo is debatable, but we've got a more explicit connection in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, where Alucard can find the Stone Mask from Phantom Blood inside the castle's library. Fun fact, that is the exact same place where Jonathan Joestar investigated the Stone Mask in Part 1.

Now, Castlevania has had many cameos over the years, ranging from Mario's skeleton in Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate, to Simon Belmont himself appearing as a boss in Contra: Hard Corps; however, the one we will be focusing on today is Simon Belmont's appearence in the 'Outer Heaven' club in the obscure Hideo Kojima game, Snatcher, where he seems to be meeting up with plenty of other classic Konami characters, like Goemon, Rocket Knight, and even Konami's original badass, Solid Snake.

And that's not where Metal Gear's connection to Snatcher end! The Metal Gear Mk. II from MGSIV is a direct reference to the original Metal Gear that appeared in Snatcher as a supporting character. You can really tell that Kojima loves references like these. Let's hope Death Stranding has some references to Metal Gear!

Both Metal Gear and Assassin's Creed like to add little cameos referencing the competence, such as in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, where you could find the signature cardboard box from the Metal Gear series in Ancient Rome; or the time when Old Snake wore Altaïr's assassin robe in Metal Gear Solid IV.

Another series that is no stranger to cameos and guest characters is Soul Calibur, where Ezio Auditore has made an appearence as a playable guest character.
Do you know who else has been featured as a playable character in the Soul Calibur series?

Lonk from Pennsylvania himself! And just like that, both of these multi-generational epics created in '86 have been connected!
